Among the notes it is stated that Raol mac Alein [Raghnall mac Ailein] was the last to inhabit Caisteal Bhuirgh and that he added the porch and extended the west side of it. Custom relating to La Fheill Brìde [St Bride's Day] describing how Mrs Major MacLeod also known as 'Major Ann', the daughter of Flora MacDonald, removed the stocking from her foot and pounded a piece of peat on the doorstep while reciting a verse beginning 'An diu[gh] la [Fhe]ill Bride, Thig nigh[ean] Imhair as an toll'. Story about two female ghosts, the first being Maidean a Chaisteil [Maighdean a' Chaisteil or Maid of the Castle] who lived in Chaisteil Chaifein [Caisteal Chaifeann/Castle Coeffin, Lios Mòr/Lismore, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire] and 'wore a green dress & walked about'. The other ghost haunted Dun alla [probably Dùn Ollaidh/Dunolllie] and she would 'Roll down mulachagun [mulachagan or cheeses] upon the servant when they displ[eased] her.' This ghost was a 'Nic-I-achain'.

Story telling how O' Neil had a 'magnificent shirt' made which he would give to the person who composed the best poem. No one was able to win it from O' Neil until MacMhuirich arrived and he won it by reciting a poem beginning 'Thin[ig] mi a Al[ba] do dh Eir[inn], A dheo[gh] mhic O Nil a chois cliu'.
